  • Drug / Alcohol Testing can be done by an employer - but needs to have the policy approved by the Maine Department of Labor
  • Off Duty Conduct – Employers are prohibited from discriminating against employees or applicants for using tobacco or medical marijuana outside the workplace
  • Wage payments - Employers must pay at least every 16 days. Each payment must include all wages earned to within eight days of the payment date
  • The 2018 minimum wage in Maine was raised to $10.00 per hour on January 1st
